Why are Ergonomics Important?
Ergonomic- We have all heard that tag word used to describe several important office items, including chairs, keyboards, mice, and desks, so why is something being "ergonomic" that much better?
According to the OSHA website (osha.gov/ergonomics), not paying attention to the position of your body during long periods of work could cause Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs). Ergonomics help us prevent the onset of these disorders in the first place.
Paying attention to Ergonomics helps "lesson muscle fatigue, increases productivity, and reduces the number and severity of work-related MSDs."
So what MSD's are we talking about?

Tendinitis
Rotator cuff injuries
Epicondylitis

Personally, I have been struggling with Cubital Tunnel (which is Carpal Tunnel in my elbow). I finally broke down and got an Ergonomic Keyboard, and I decided to go with the highest rated one I could find.
And let me tell you, the hype is real.
Pros:
Natural Position of My Hands
The Wrist Pad- solid, yet comfortable
The Quick Switch Option- Switch between up to three devices effortlessly. It even goes between Apples and Windows with ease
The Bottom Row shows both Apple and Windows Keys
Comes in Three Color Options
Cons:
No Backlight
It's Pretty Large
The Price Point ($128.99 on Amazon)
In the end, I think it is completely worth the price point. If you don't want your body to suffer (because you only get one of them anyways), spoiling yourself with quality ergonomic products is a valid reason for spending the extra cash. Honestly, I don't think I will ever go back to using my regular laptop keyboard (unless it's a must).
