The Start of Something New

(Please note, I do have affiliate links posted below each book. Please do not feel obligated to purchase the items, however, it does provide support for myself and my family)

2024 is officially here!

As I bake some cinnamon rolls, I wanted to start sharing a few of the books I plan on reading this year to help me stay on track with my consistency issues.

I just recently heard about this one and am currently in the middle of reading it. The concept to me is extremely interesting.

The book is based on the fact that when we have an impending deadline approaching, we tend to get things done a lot quicker and focus more intensely. The authors focus on this concept and break the year up into 12 week increments.

1 Day= 1 Week

1 Week= 1 Month

Therefore:

12 Weeks= 12 months

This includes weekly and daily check ins, a scoring guide for each week, and dedicated time blocks for focused work and relax time.

I haven't gotten too far in the book. When I'm finished with it, I'll post a full review and understanding of the book.

Everyone and their mother talks about this book, so I don't feel like I need to say much about it.

Pretty much, every "goal" that you have has a set of habits that go along with it that create the outcome you are looking for.

I own the book, I've read it once, but I really need to go through it again with this different headspace I have been in.

Again, I'll post a full review once I go through it again, with further explanations.

As a few of you know, in early 2023, I was diagnosed with OCD.

A lot of the Obsessive Thoughts and Compulsions were connected with my ability to talk to people and make friends. (and my ability to take left hand turns at busy streets without stop lights)

I feel like I'm deep enough in my recovery now to learn the skills I have been avoiding for so long. That's where this book comes in.

I don't know much about it, but I know the title 🤷‍♀️.

I'm at a place in life where sharing my thoughts and feelings with the world is empowering and motivating. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read:)
